SEENATH

Seenath hails from Thrissur, 10 kilometers from ESAF head office. She is a mother of three children and her husband is an auto riskshaw driver in Thrissur town.

Seenath was an employee in a small bakery and her petty remuneration was the main source of income for Seenath's family. Seenath was good in making bakery items, snacks, cutlets etc.Her husband 'Sidhiq' was earning a meager income by driving an auto rickshaw. She always dreamt of starting a small business unit to support her family of four. Unfortunately, nobody was there to help her fulfill their interest and desire.

In the year 2003, Seenath came to know about ESAF through a loan officer and joined as a Sangam Member. It was a breakthrough in her life. She got the first loan of Rs. 1000 and purchased the necessary vessels and gas connection to start up her venture. Seenath started her venture with the support of husband and children. Business started to flourish and the demand for the food products increased. She started to market the products in the major bakeries and Snacks centers in Thrissur town. Though she had good business Seenath was regular to the sangam meetings and other activities of ESAF.

As business flourished, the need for more equipments and manpower increased. By this time the first loan amount was completely repaid and she applied for a second loan. ESAF was really happy to give the second loan of Rs. 1000. This loan amount helped her to construct a shed adjacent to her house and she expanded her venture. Later, she got a third loan of Rs.20000/- from ESAF and brought grinders and other equipment to make more items such as Chips, Cakes, and other kinds of sweets. She even helped her husband to buy an auto rickshaw from the profits she earned. Now she has her own bakery unit and she is distributing bakery items to the leading shops in Thrissur. She also supplies to the ESAF owned supermarket at Mannuthy and Pattikkad.

She gratefully recollects the beginning of her venture and how her family's standard of living increased. She could educate her children and marry them off in a respectable manner. Sidhiq and seenath are success entrepreneurs with ESAF.We, at ESAF is delighted to see the transformation of this family.
