Micro finance includes a range of small financial services appropriate for poor. Often,it refers to customized financial services that improve the access of poor to various financial services.
Micro Finance Enterprises Development is one of the important intervention areas of ESAF. It plays a critical role in the economic development of economy, particularly, in those economies which are undergoing transition from traditional subsistence to a modern industrial economy.

ESAF started Micro Enterprises Development [MED] programmes in the year 1995. It initiates effective grass root level development which aims at economic self-reliance among the poor. MED provides a broad package of financial and business development services to the society and economically challenged men and women.
